Princeton University

I graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor’s in English and certificates in Asian American Studies and Gender & Sexuality Studies. As a Matriculate Advising Fellow at Princeton, I guided 4 high school students throughout the college application cycle from junior to senior year. My students applied to and were ultimately accepted to top 20 universities such as Yale University, Columbia University, University of Chicago, and Boston University. My key responsibilities included editing Common Application and supplemental essays, preparing students for interviews, and providing extracurricular and academic advising to help students build a competitive applicant profile. I also gained special expertise in advising students on applying to and securing competitive scholarships such as QuestBridge and the Gates Scholarship. During the summers, I also worked part-time for an independent tutoring agency, with a particular emphasis on arts portfolio advising for college applications. From advising more than a dozen students over the course of four years in college admissions across the humanities, arts, economics, business, and law, I’ve learned that the most successful applications clearly illustrate the unique stories of each student. Through my advising, I aim to help students develop their voices and present their ideas in the most compelling, distinctive way possible. This guides my tutoring philosophy to tailor each session according to the unique needs and interests of each student. To add some more context on my Princeton experiences, I was awarded the Earl R. Miner prize for my senior thesis, which is awarded to one outstanding thesis for exceptional merit in the entire English department. This thesis analyzed Asian and Asian American art, literature, and film to consider the intimate entanglements of memory, immigration, love, and nostalgia. I also wrote for The Daily Princetonian, the school newspaper, and served as the Assistant Director of Student Relations for Design Nation, the largest student run conference on UX/UI, product design, and tech in the world.

Currently, I am working in the financial services industry in New York City. Beyond academics and career interests, I love reading, writing, hanging out with friends and getting involved with the Princeton alumni community as the social media chair for the Class of 2024.

I am a recent graduate of Princeton University with a bachelor's in English and a certificate in American Studies. During my first year at Princeton, I worked as an English tutor with TutorOut, providing guidance in writing, editing, and reading comprehension to students in China. In the fall of that same year, I co-ran a pro-bono college admissions workshop where I worked with dozens of students to help craft their personal statements and supplemental essays with the goal of expanding accessibility to college mentorship services. Prior to Princeton, I volunteered for four years as a generalized tutor to students aged elementary through high school, working one-on-one and in group settings to foster personal development and academic growth in my underrepresented, rural school district. All of these experiences, along with my own journey coming from a town where less than one-fourth of adults hold a bachelor's degree, have strengthened my interest in admissions advising and promoting access to higher education. I am currently working in attorney development at a top-5 corporate law firm in New York City with hopes of one day attending law school. I have extensive knowledge regarding Pre-Law/Political Science, Arts and Humanities, and Communications and Media Studies. I center my advising around clearly articulating each student's voice and personal brand, using the admissions process as a chance for reflection upon not only each student's achievements and passions, but also upon their unique personal trajectory. The college admissions process is a time filled with possibilities, and my aim is to help each individual student and family realize those possibilities while recognizing the value in all the work they have done to reach this point.

Hello! My name is Persis and I am a senior at Princeton University studying neuropsychology, with a minor in African-American studies. As a first-generation college student from an underprivileged background, I am passionate about college access. I was accepted into prestigious summer programs and colleges, and earned over 1.5 million dollars in scholarships. Over the past four years, I have helped students get accepted into Yale, Princeton, Bates, and George Washington, among others. I assist students throughout the entire college process: researching schools, writing essays, finding recommenders, applying for scholarships, and choosing programs. Most notably, I have helped many students get full-tuition scholarships to their dream schools. You don’t need to be a prodigy, valedictorian, or class president to enter your target program! Nor do you need to be highly connected or wealthy. I empower my students to highlight the skills and experiences they already have, to show their unique value in their applications. In college, I started off pre-med, conducting and publishing neuroscience research. I was interested in marketing, and was selected from externships at Google and P&G. Now, I am pursuing a career in private equity and have had prestigious internships on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley. I have a hybrid of experiences that I can pull from to advise you. I’m excited to work with you!

Hello! I'm Favor, currently a graduate student at Princeton getting my M.Arch. My advising experience is with Matriculate; I went through their program when applying to university and became an advisor for the program at Penn! I, along with two of my peers, helped set up Penn's Matriculate chapter as the advising fellow leadership team. During that time, I advised three students through the college application and enrollment process, with acceptances from University of Miami (with a full tuition scholarship), University of South Florida, Penn State (with Provost award), Rutgers, Stony Brook, and more! I especially love essay brainstorming and writing due to my heavy writing background in philosophy and general love for crafting compelling, memorable personal narratives. I've also informally talked with students applying to the Ivies; as a Penn student, I can share my experience applying, and speak to the culture, workload, extracurriculars, etc. of an Ivy-league institution. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi! My name is Bailee Peralto and I am a recent graduate from Brown University. I have five years of experience working with high school students on college applications. I specialize in advising on scholarships and financial aid, staying on track with deadlines, deciding on a school list, and crafting strong college essays. As a first-generation college student myself, I love being able to support other first-generation students in their college application journey. At Brown I was involved in Model United Nations, I was a Writing Fellow, and I was a Co-Programmer for the Multiracial Heritage Series at the Brown Center for Students of Color where I'm involved in activism and community organizing. I also worked as a Policy Intern for the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island. I really enjoy working with students on crafting their applications to make their college dreams come true!
